Matte varnish, final spray varnish with UV protection for oil paints by Schmincke.
The final varnishes are also suitable for inkjet prints, art prints or photographs. The varnish is colorless, flexible, non-yellowing, resistant to aging and fast-drying.
The final varnish in oil painting has several important functions. It is a kind of protective layer that affects both the appearance and durability of the work. The varnish protects the painting from dust, dirt and moisture. This makes the painting more resistant to weather-related damage. Varnish can emphasize the intensity of colors, giving the painting depth. It helps to unify the appearance of the painting, eliminating differences in the surface gloss of different areas.
